School of Rock Details and Sign Up

School of Rock is a big show to put onstage and more complex than normal as we have an onstage band. We are looking for a cast of 13 children, 4 of which need to play keyboard/guitar/drums/base. If you are 16 and under and not cast as a student you will not be in the show. There are plenty of roles for adults with 4 main characters and several featured roles. To put on a production it takes team work and everyone is just as important as each other, without the smaller roles we wouldn’t have a show.

Rehearsals will start on the 5th and 12th December and then on 9th January. We rehearse on a Tuesday/Wednesday in Amblecote, Stourbridge at 7.30pm-10pm and you could be called any night.

Expectations of Cast
The expectation is that if you want to be involved in the show you turn up to rehearsal having done some homework, listening to the songs, looking at the script/song words, practicing anything that has been set and basically being prepared. I expect principals to start learning lines immediately and putting books down as soon as possible.

Children
We would like children to have a playing age of 10-13yrs (this isn’t actual age, it’s what you can look like) and ideally no taller than approximately 5ft 4” in height. All children must be able to act, sing and dance/move.

Auditions
Times will be announced nearer the date, once you have registered.
There will be a movement audition for all children and anyone new to QBMTS.
You only need to prepare one audition piece even if you would like to be considered for any part.
All new members need to sing as well as dance, if not going for a main part you must learn the ensemble singing audition.

MEMBERSHIP fee £30.00 payable either before day or on audition. Do not audition if you aren’t sure if you want to be in the cast, or you sit outside of the criteria

SHOW fee £50.00. Instalments by standing order possible
